Hap Seng Auto Sdn Bhd, the sole authorized dealer of Mercedes Benz Malaysia for East Malaysia, on Saturday launched the new generation eco friendly Mitsubishi Fuso Canter Truck in Sabah.

 

The new euro 2 Canter, a versatile light-truck that bears all the brand’s hallmark of reliability and durability while offering power, greater fuel-efficiency and eco friendly features, is also expected to drive the country’s Fuso sales volume up by over 20 per cent.

 

The New Generation Canter models- FE85PG, FE83PG, FE83PE and FE71PB – were unveiledduring the State-level launch held at the Hap Seng Star Sdn Bhd Headquarters in Inanam, here.

 

Wong Leh Seng, the Chief Executive Officer of Hap Seng Auto Sdn Bhd and Hap Seng Star Sdn Bhd (each formerly known as Si Khiong Industries and Si Khiong Star, respectively) officiated at the ceremony.

 

Raymond Chow, the Senior Manager of Retail Sales of Mitsubishi Fuso, together with Hap Seng Star General Manager Deputy Manager (Commercial Vehicle) Michael S.T. Chin, Deputy General Manager (After Saales) Lim Kok Wong@Albert, and Mitsubishi Fuso Marketing Cyrus Low, were also present.

 

The new generation Canter represents a big step forward in the company’s drive towards environmental sustainability while demonstrating continued commitment and leadership in innovative commercial truck technology.

 

'We are confident the new generation Canter will be a main seller in this country..back in West Malaysia we received orders for 360 units within a short period of its launch while in Sabah we have orders for about 30 units already,’ said Wong, adding they are targeting sales of 1,700 units for the new generation Canter in East Malaysia.

 

Meanwhile, Chin said in celebrating the release of the new generation Canter, Hap Seng is giving away a free body for the 100^th customer who buy the half-tonne truck in Sabah.
